Some years ago I had 2kg 15cm steel monopod with lockable hinge bolted on counter balance of fork lift.
We experienced this same issue with Canon FF. Best picture was taken with pure laziness. I didn't bother to remove protective cloth over camera.

These images were used to replicate and validate structure alignments as backup for human error in measuring. And the difference: philips screw got the slots.

So small changes and adding tensions can change the resonating frequency but to work with this phenomenon scientifically is hard and experimenting is boring and getting better results isn't 100% sure.
