The reviewer states that Pixel Shift does not lead to an increase in resolution. Either the reviewer and I have a different idea of what "increased resolution" means or he/she is not looking at the same before/after Pixel Shift examples in the review. To me, the increased resolution is very apparent in the PS image.

Review is correct in stating that there is no resolution increase, however more details are resolved with pixel shift.

the key thing with regard to resolution is to recall its root verb: "to resolve".
And there is indeed more resolution with the K-3ii in pixel shift mode even though the pixel count is the same.
No different than if you put a cheap lens vs. a pro lens -- same pixel count, but one of those lenses will clearly out-resolve the other.

the article does go on to say:

With the anti-aliasing simulator switched off and shooting at the minimum ISO sensitivity of 100, a score of 3,300l/ph is gained from our resolution chart. This is a very impressive score for this type of sensor and it holds up well as the sensitivity is raised, with 3,100l/ph at ISO 6,400. However, while in Pixel Shift Resolution mode at ISO 100, an excellent total of 3,800l/ph is resolved.
