K-3, no AF, no exposure, going to repair.

Hi!
My 2 year old K-3 has gotten the flu...?
The AF- button is not working, neither the shutter button. Only a weak noise like a sighing. I think it's the mirror mechanism. I can't do mirror up for cleaning. The menus seem to be working. Live view doesn't work either. I've tried reset and battery out. Tomorrow I'll go to the repair shop. I hope they can fix it. Where's the K-1 when you really need it? 😞

New K-3 ... ~600 dollars.
Quote for K-3 repair... $306.50

At least in the USA. Not sure in China.. suspect it is still much cheaper to get it repaired vs buying a new one out right.

The mirror not going up explains why Live View is not working.

FYI: My K-3 is in the shop now too. Just under 2 years. The credit card I used added an additional year warranty service (I received a reimbursement check for Precision's quote directly from the CC company). Maybe yours does too.

Hi!
The shutter count is ~29,500. Not so much.

It's back! :-)
They replaced the main circuit board. Everything seems to be ok now.
Too bad that you can't backup and reload your (custom and user) settings. Now I have to read all the AF, CIF, BIF etc. threads again.
