I understand that Ricoh has been pretty busy with the K-1, K-70 and FF lens portfolio, but if they haven't started on the K3 III yet, that would mean it would hardly come out in 2017.
I'm sure lens design engineers and production engineers are busy, but I wonder what the camera design engineers are working on. "a little surprise or two" is pretty wage, and may lead to a product hopes, dreams and speculations in all directions. Even a digital 110-system or a superzoom GR III isn't excluded. Ricoh are good at keeping secrets tight until a few days before launch (except the planned K-1 leaks).

Focal lengths are already hinted strongly about here. This is still the last official roadmap.

As i said, there's a lot of stuff going on..But nothing ready for production line yet. Ricoh will not abandon high end aps-c

Sorry for being a bit unclear here...

I'm not buying any new camera for me yet but, I'm interested in finding out what's next. It'll point to how good the future cameras will be. The feedback on the k-70's image quality is quite promising. I hope the k-3II successor will even have a much better image quality.

No worries kenspo
it is not that you are unclear, we re just trying to read between the lines and interpolate using our small knowledge of what could be a photo gear manufacturing business
If body assigned engineers are not working on K3 iii at the moment they are probably on next gen Q or some sort or mirrorless, it would probably postpone K3 iii possible launch from april to september next year
I also foresee a will from Pentax to milk consumer base with K1 as K3 iii would cannibalize some part of its success

Well the K-3 (II) successor will implement 4k 30p, an articulating screen (maybe touch meaning new interface), an LCD focus screen overlay. A new AF sensor (maybe accelerated like Sony does?), noise reduction accelerator chip. A new body to accommodate all of that. So I guess they are taking their time developing it.

Thanks for that, I'd seen it a while ago and I don't see any specific hints. WA and UWA can be around ??

I was hoping to prise some info like 10-14(uwa) and 18-22(wa) from Kenspo, ha ha.
