Apart from the video which clearly is a fake, is there anyone waiting for k3ii successor or is it only me?

There will probably be a successor but this is way too soon to expect it. The K-3II only came out last summer and Pentax has a lot on its plate with the FF camera and lenses.

That is rather amusing to me.. the real D500 has better specs than this dreamed up Pentax at the same price. If you're going to fake, then fake with some gusto!! Claim 256 focus points and 4d tracking with unlimited burst rate or something..

Possibly a K-3 upgrade with some tech shared with the full frame (AF module and 4K video for instance).

One factor Nikon has brought with the D5 and the D500 is the implementation of UHS-II for SDXC and the use of XQD format which is basically the replacement for Compact Flash cards. I had forgotten about the XQD format. When I did a google search a PentaxForum Poll thread was one of the hits from the summer of 2012. It did not garner much attention back then.

XQD is/was clearly the way to go in hindsight. Reading up about it it does spec out much better than SD in the long run and the short. So it is interesting that Nikon has already included XQD in the dual slot D500. The Nikon D4 has already been using it. The specs for the Nikon D500 has the overall physical dimensions at 147x115x81 just around about the size of the Pentax FF. The D500 is ~1.5cm taller and wider than the K3ii.

The D500 will not out perform the K3ii on image quality. Sharpness alone the K3ii will be hard to beat using pixel shift even in the limited capacity it can be used. The D500 should excel at video over the K3ii. Due entirely over the K3ii only having a UHS-I interface.

20 vs 24 MP - not serious difference.

People that do video and action photography can be happy with this camera... but for the rest is nothing out of this world, and for the price mmmmmm

I mentioned this sensor the other day when talking about the k-3 vs the k-s1. Comparing both side by side, the k-s1 has the noticeably better sensor wrt noise and high ISO performance. The k-3 pulls ahead in terms of white balance (not sensor related) and the 14bit raw files (again not related to the sensor). One serious upgrade for the k-3, would be to move to that 20mp sensor. I'd buy it (well that's a lie, I'm waiting for the k-1)

Probably the image quality of Pentax 150-450 would be better than sigma 150-600 sport. But considering the price and the reach, I would also choose sigma if it will be available for Pentax.
The Sigma sport is heavier than the 150-450,and tripod is needed alot, whereas the Pentax can he handheld. IQ on my 150-450 is great,& when its paired with the K1 FF,then I'm sure we see what it really can do(AFC wise) I do hope, if not then Nikon is the answer

As expected, but thanks for clearing it up!

Mere speculation that has been heard before, apparently Ricoh at one point was considering acquiring RED... or something along those lines... I don't have any actual info though, perhaps Kenspo does!
