Still needing a little help

Any help getting this little piece replaced would be awesome!!

Local dealer can't help...

The contact on Pentax's website makes it sound like fixing a K3 is a flat rate of $300. I emailed them...no response.

****** everything works fine.... just need the cover *******

Thank you

I think you'll have to send it into Precision Camera for repair.

You might try this seller, he has the back LCD replacement screens, so may have the top ones also.

Cool... Liven in Helena for 10 years. Did some Elk hunting near Clancy.

If you make it through Columbus grab a bite at the 307....my little Bro owns it.

Wow! Indeed it is a small world!! I don't travel much anymore, but have friends that do; and will pass on the info on your brother's place!

I've lived in Helena area since 1967; before that I lived in Butte until I married & moved to Helena.

Not sure if this will help or not, but Joe Virgil at Ricoh/Pentax in Colorado used to be in charge of the Professional Services when they had that a few years ago. He has always been extremely helpful in the past. Maybe ask for him at 1-800-234-0276.

Looks like all that would be needed is a little bit of heat, and the adhesive holding the LCD cover could be lifted off.

There may be parts on eBay for the K-3 screen cover. I wonder if the dimensions of the K-3 LCD cover match that of some other camera brands?

Probably $300 is because as a precaution they are presuming the top LCD itself may be damaged, and may need replacing.

Kentster...been missing you over in the Bigma thread? I can't help you on your problem, but ask....was that squirrel damage? It looks like something a squirrel might do, and if so, I can try to make Otis pay for it.

Regards!

Lol... can't right fully blame the squirrels.... i'll try and post some new pics tonight.

One thing I (and my squirrels) need help with is. How do i kill a rat and not hurt my other critters ? Probably going to go the pellet gun approach.....but was wondering on any other methods. Hoping to make an example out of this one so his pals get the hint
