I am using the K3, it is my 4th Pentax DSLR since the K20D, first of all I admitted that I did not read the menu in full, and I came from the 'film era', I am bit old school and did not make good use of all the new features on modern cameras, coz I don't feel confident using that if I don't understand how that works and what to expect, that sounds silly I know but this is me

I got a question and problem, I used mainly Program Shift with freedom to select shutter speed or aperture, and I used 9 points instead of 27 points with rear button AF, unless I shoot groups and party etc... I will change drive mode and white balance with the 4 'cursor' buttons, I can't recall when or what I've done to the camera, or I mixed up with the K5 that I no longer have, now I can't use the 4 buttons normally, say, change drive mode while not in full 27 points AF, I moved the focus points instead. I tried different settings and cycle thru' AF and display mode, I got the control back in spot AF and electronic level display, but this is not a permanent fix and I lost control again after messing with the buttons, I still don't know what I've done wrong, or this is just me ??

Press the AF point button (the one to the right of and below of the 4-way pad) and the 4-way pad will go back to working normally. Basically, every time you press this button the function of the 4-way pad changes. On previous buttons you had to hold down the OK button to accomplish this.
