As a pure backup camera, if you didn't already have one, I would agree with the sentiments to go with a K-3 (built-in flash, similar controls, same IQ). The better solution, which sounds like it doesn't apply to the OP, but did apply in my case and many others, would be to stick with your "old" camera as the backup. I've actually been surprised by the number of times I've used both cameras while out on a shoot since I got the K3II.
