Wacky colors in view mode lcd screen.

So I have had the K3 since last fall and have been loving it.....but. When I shoot a single shot and the preview comes up the colors look great. But if I burst shoot, the first picture looks great then the rest of them just have these bizarre colors. And then when I load them into Lightroom CC the preview has the bizarre colors and then after a second or two the image changes to look correctly. I am shooting in SRGB on the camera and in RAW. I'm just wondering if I hit something on the camera that would make it do this or did I change a setting by accident possibly (I am not ruling out either one of those).

Thanks
Jim

Can you upload one of them? It might help make a diagnosis easier. Its possible the memory card is faulty and saving images that quickly to it causes corruption, though you say the image changes and looks correct on the computer. In that case, it seems like on the jpeg preview embedded in the RAW is messed up. What do have selected in your "custom image" menu (the right button on the 4 way). Make sure you don't have something like cross processing on. I use the natural setting, personally, though it doesn't matter to my RAWs, it only effects jpegs.

Thanks for the quick reply. It is on cross processing. I just changed it to natural and vibrant and now they look correctly. Thank you very much for the help. I knew it was something I had done.

Thanks

This confuses users way too often. They should make cross processing a playback mode retouch effect, IMO.

It sure confused me Adam. I thought something was really wrong with the camera. Because I really don't remember getting into that setting. But heck who knows what I do sometimes. I'm just glad it was quickly remedied by enoeske. Because I really hate changing setting on this camera because there are just too many buttons for me to get in trouble with.

Thanks
Jim

This is another reason to always shoot RAW+JPG even if you normally only want JPG. When active it is possible to easily tap the white balance button and get strange jpg colors. If you have RAW files you can just generate new properly color balanced jpgs. This happened to me yesterday when arroyo walking. After a certain point all my jpgs were washed out like they had been over exposed. Everything was fine when I processed the RAWs. Somehow the white balance had been switched to muted by the camera bumping against something as I scrambled about. I wish Pentax would install a lock option. Is there one on the K-1?

Or at least the option to require confirmation. The strange part is that I accidentally changed settings a few times when I first got the camera, but in the last 18 months or so. Magic!

My biggest complaint regarding unexpected output comes when intending to switch a focus point, I'll switch off of AWB to K which results in automatic 2500K color temperature. Even if I am shooting raw (as I almost always do unless testing), I hate seeing the blue cast as I'm reviewing images. While I know that there is info provided in the viewfinder regarding the mode, I'm not always paying attention to it.
