I got a black band oj the bottom of three shots from today, as if the shutter got stuck. It then fixed itself and I took some hundred shots that were ok.

has anyone experienced it? I am wondering if my k-3 has a problem l, or was it perhaps due to temperature difference? I went put from the car to 40f weather. What else could be at cause. Maybe dust? The sensor doesn't appear dusty in white wall test.

My old K20d used to -- right after powering up, and only on occasion -- produce one all-black photo on the first shutter actuation. And then it would work fine. I sent it in for service and that helped, but it was never fully cured. So I got into the habit of burning a shot at the beginning of every session.

The shutter is a high speed delicate mechanical item. I think in my case it occasionally got a little too much "stiction" to overcome, but after warming up it was fine. Yours might be something similar. I'd consider service if it recurs, but otherwise, hope it's a one-time thing.

Just a random question, what was your light source and shutter speed?
