Two things to try:

Check the memory card is sitting in properly. Remove and install.

Turn the on off switch quickly a few times.

Odd. The EXACT same thing happened to me three days ago with my K3. I had never had any problems with it before.. I sent it off to Precision Cameras and am waiting to hear back from them.. Wouldn't that be interesting if it is a software thing and not a mechanical issue?

Do you mean something in the code that says "if May and if 2016 and if timezone EDT doSuddenDeath"?

Seriously, though...

Three reports of similar catastrophic failure in one week is a bit unusual on this site unless there is a general issue.

@mikerigal, @stemked, and @scphotos123, do you care to share your firmware versions and approximate shutter counts?

Very unusual indeed, same problem and all within the same time frame.

I have the latest software update for the camera and I only had about 9500 shots on the camera. So not to much.

So far the only thing those cameras have in common is the firmware, have you guys tried powering on the camera using a different battery ?

I already sent mine in. I haven't updated it so it was whatever I had when I first got the camera two years ago. I'll add I tried multiple batteries, (which all worked in my K5iis), inserting and reinserting the card, etc. It was DOA.

I really feel for you guys, maybe someone with more experience than myself will post other things to try. Was going to suggest a total camera reset but then again if you can't power on then I don't think there is a way you can reset it.

Will keep searching the net to see what I can find in order to try to help.
