K-3 Auto Focus Tracking

Attached are the results of a test of the auto focus tracking of the K-3 with the DA*50-135mm f2.8. All images were shot at 1/500 of a second at f7.1 at ISO 100 at 8.3 FPS. Unfortunately, because of the web site limitation only 10 images of a 17 shot sequence could be loaded. Very impressive results.

Thanks for sharing. I too have K-3 + 50-135mm but I never tried AF tracking before.

The AF settings were set on continues automatic tracking. Here are a few more images I left out of the original post.

Thanks, but I was wondering about other settings that may be relevant, like C3 (18) Hold AF Status and other settings as described on page 46 of the manual.

The setting were to AF.C, 27 point (default), continuous shooting high and focus priority.

Nice shots.

My K-3Ii in AF.C and using Center point has been doing really well for birds in flight.

In the pictures was the girl moving fast? I find the focus tracking speed lacking at high speeds.

I feel like my k5ii would fail in this scenario. Nice set and thanks for posting!
