K-3 Discontinued at B&H

So glad I pulled the trigger on mine a couple of weeks ago. No more K-3 at B&H. Searched Adorama too, no joy.

I rather doubt it, although Pentax in general are so good in low light, that if you need flash, bounce/tilt/swivel with more power that doesnʻt draw on the cameraʻs battery is far superior. (Wouldnʻt it be cool if Pentax introduced the first tilt/swivel built-in flash unit?)

Without a doubt the K-1 may have drained a few Ricoh resources, but with the K-3 being 3 years old and the K-3II being 18 months since release, I would expect the next APS-C flagship (with a built-in flash) between spring 2017 and summer 2018 with greatest likelihood fall 2017.

The K-3 has been discontinued for a while I believe. They were selling of stock. Since Ricoh announced KAF4 it is outdated anyway. (for a new camera).

I really doubt it. They seem to prioritize wi-fi and GPS above built-in flash, leaving little room for a pop-up.

Personally, I rarely use the built-in flash as a sole light source. Rather, I value it as a master or controller for off camera flashes with P-TTL. The only camera left in the Pentax stable with built-in flash, the K-70, has been deliberately crippled so that its flash cannot act as a master. This is a great pity.

I'm very happy I got my K3 about a year ago; absolutely love it! Sad that it's discontinued, however.

My new K-3 from B & H arrived Tuesday. Have thoroughly enjoyed my first ever dslr, a K-50 but really looking forward to exploring the capabilities of the K-3.

Every product has and end of life as new development comes in. But one thing's for sure your k-3 will continue to live if you don't misuse it.

There are still some K-3 cameras floating around Amazon, but the cheapest one seems to the the one that is selling with an 18-55 kit lens & sold by an outside vendor. There are a bunch of overpriced K-3 cameras on there as well. Do not want!

You may be right. Mine arrived with no software CD. Called B & H and was told they didn't have any. Gave me Ricohs 800 number. The very helpful guy at Ricoh said they didn't have any either! Said he would burn one off the master and send it to me. Am still green when it comes to PP and want to master the basics before purchasing a more advanced software program.

Agree. Since they keep putting GPS and astrotracer in most of their cameras, I assume the era of the pop-up flash is over. Unless they manage to make the GPS significantly smaller and/or change the body design to house both.
