Happy Thanksgiving.

Got both my K-50 and my K-3 updated with the latest firmware. Actually the update makes us forward compatible since it updates the firmware for KAF4 lens. Wonder if there was any other unspecified update also?

That's usually the case in the software world.

The engineers have their list of things that were fixed, the users get their list saying what's contained, and the two are not the same, for PR reasons.

As in pixel shift and improved IS performance? They would have most certainly said so, I would think. Agreed, I could have stated it as "forward" compatible, but then again that implies that some other newer mount coming would be compatible. Maybe just fully compatible with all K mounts is the right term.

Agreed fully compatible with all K mounts. I was hoping for a bit of improvement on the already very good IS system.

Whats strange is some Pentax users said they got a "Complete" when the update finished. I can't recall the first two but 1.21 and 1.30 never did. Needless to say I got a bit nervous but decided to tap the shutter button the way I usually do when in review mode and up popped the familiar back screen display.

It was true of the K-1 update I did during the week, Larry.

K-3 Update "Complete"

For the K-3 Version 1.3 update the "COMPLETE" was only displayed momentarily at the left center (not bottom) of the LCD monitor. It was only shown for around 1 second on my camera. If I had not been watching it constantly I would have missed it.

I must have missed the "Complete" on my K3 Update as well. I waited about 5 minutes before I turned it off to see if it updated being a little nervous when I did. Ricoh how about a fix for this.

I use the Pentax Flucard for a pseudo limited tethering solution, it works half the time. Actually it is exactly half the time more than having no tethering option whatsoever.
