Oh well....no K3iii announced

I really hoped there'd be a K3ii replacement with all the latest bells and whistles announced at the PhotoPlus shebang this week, but, alas, no such luck.

Usually the big announcements come out of CP+ or Photokina, so that might be a better bet. I think they want to do more with the K-3 II's successor than just incrementally improve the specs, which would not be that appealing given the already-high performance of today's models and competitors.

Why don't Pentax like even numbers, K2, K4, K6?

So confusing having the KP, K70 in there and the K-01 & K-1

Prime numbers are appealing, odd numbers are just "odd"

I hope the jump up in performance and features is like the jump from the K5 to K3. I will be happy with my K3 until then.

"Four is an unlucky number in Japan because it sounds like shi (死 – death). This is why there are two readings for the number four, shi and yon. Whenever possible, people try to avoid using the deathy one."

The odd camera numbers match the lenses, 31, 43, 77, etc.

It's more than likely not going to happen this year. Hopefully they release it next year with much improved specs, especially the AF performance.

tilt screen (should be automatic based on K1 and 01) 4k video w/mechanical stabilization. Up grade pixel shift to match K1, faster burst.

I prefer a fixed screen, if it has to move articulated is better, then it can be faced in most of the time and pulled out only when needed. Top lcd is a must for me to see quick changes to exposure settings and AF adjust. It would be nice if it was modular on order ie. can come with or without video

K3 III may come before DFA50 * / 1.4. But they will not say anything a half year before.
The longer it linger, the bigger the improvements.
K2 came in the 70's, and it's not forgotten.
FA31, 43, 77 are the exact focal lengths on the lenses and it sounds more exclusive than 30, 50 or 85mm.
Many lenses, especially telephoto lenses, are not exactly 50mm, 135mm or 300mm, for example, DA * 300 is 278mm.
However, according to http://www.objektivtest.se/tester/test-sex-fast-fullformatsobjectiv-for-pentax-k-1/
FA31 is 32mm, FA43 on 43mm and FA 77 is 76mm.
It might sound better with 31mm instead of 32mm? or Pentax measures a bit differently.

Man, the K3II replacement will never be able to live up to expectations. I'm looking forward to it or a KP all the same. My K3 is still going strong but I would like to replace it in a year or two.
