I am encouraged to see the average age on here. It means that the older, wiser crowd has determined Pentax to be a worthy investment as well. I am 28 yrs old today (and for the previous 133 days) and have been a Pentaxian since my mom taught me to use her K1000 15 years ago. I absolutely love having access to my m prime lenses for such a low cost compared to my Nikon and Canon friends who shell out as much for average lens as I did for my K3 body. Anyway, as long as Pentax keeps the K-mount I will be a loyal user...one who is likely to buy another advanced product before I die. Are you listening, Ricoh?!

If anyone is planning to grow old with their beloved K-3 i think it's a good idea to invest in the BG-5 battery grip because it accepts AA batteries. Li-Ion batteries have limited life span so your K-3 will just become a brick if your battery dies and the Li-Ion battery designed for it is no longer in production.

I am already pretty old so I cannot grow old with any camera except my venerable MX.

I plan on growing old some day, if my K3 wants to accompany me it's more than welcome.

I'm getting on, but managed to bike 10-15 Km after not even taking the bike out of the shed for 3 or 4 years. (1940-06-10).

My K-3 isn't showing any signs of failure. There is a T-shirt advertised that suits, but I won't spend that kind of money on frivolity.

My K-3 and DA 12-24 were used to make a 4 image panorama shot at the lookout half way between Highway 41 and Reesor Lake in Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park, Alberta/Saskatchewan. The lookout is quite close to the interprovincial boundary. The pano shows benches left and right, the left one is covered with a hiking couple. Both benches are next to the road.

The images were taken hand held, using the viewfinder lines on the horizon to keep the camera as level as possible, and I took 4 shots to allow for lots of overlap. The four were loaded into Lightroom CC and automatically aligned and cropped by Lightroom using the cylindrical panorama option. I'm happy with the result.

I like my camera (k3ii), does everything I need and I have a what I think is a well rounded set of lenses for my uses. Neither the sun or our light bulbs are getting much dimmer to require way better noise performance, so I don't have a real reason to replace it if it keeps working

I am already 70 years old, so it is too late for me to "grow old with" any camera. I used two film cameras for eleven years each, but then I could upgrade the sensor by changing the film I used. These days one has to change cameras to upgrade my sensor, and I'm always interested in the latest sensor. Today I will probably purchase one more camera, a KP, to replace my K-30, but we'll see how my health works out.

I just turned 77, so my K3 has no chance but to grow old with me! I do want to get an upgrade in the next year (not K1, can't afford it); and keep my K3 as a spare. But in the meantime, I'm loving the time spent with it!

The accelerator unit works really good on the APS-c sensors and I need the higher ISO performance for keeping my shutter speed up in bird images.

The K-3 didn't work out all that well to day. For me, it tops out at 640 ISO and most of my images had motion blur, but I di get lucky on a few.

It's a great camera but I've been spoiled by my K-1 for shooting at high ISOs. The K-P has fixed that. I awnt that extra 1.5 stops from the next APS-c flagship, and the update AF.

The K-3 must still have something to offer you - otherwise you would have taken the K-1 or the KP on this adventure.
