trying to clean my mirror

Am I doing something wrong?? Very difficult

The mirror got dirty because the blue wire at the right is disconnected. It powers the dust deflector.

From here a Demel with any automotive cutting or polishing compound should get rid of any remaining silver residue.

Kinda looks like the baggie of parts I have left of my Pentax ME many years ago. Other than the blue wire mentioned by ProfessorBuzz, it should be easy to put back together.
