Now that I have converted, I’m happy. I currently use both the K-3 and K-3 II, and just ordered a used K-1 (first version).

Looking forward to finding more expertise here.
Good to hear. You're going to love the K-1. Shout if you need any help.

You can still get K3 and K3II's from mapcamera in Shinjuku... if you're in Japan. Used but in good quality.
another source I check for good " experienced " equipment is, of course, the forum's marketplace " buy/sell"

. . . I will stick around, as I’ve learned a lot on this forum, and very much like Pentax, which I first bought only three years ago,

I don’t plan on going back to Canon, or to Nikon, Leica, Hasselblad or Sinar, all of which served me very well for five decades of my professional career.

glad to see the OP has decided to stick with us

I appreciate when a member attempts to provide us with news and knowledge. Convert looks to have a lot of expertise to provide if that is what he chooses to do

I hope he does and he also chooses to post some photos and other comments from time to time

Apologies accepted folks. I did not spend adequate time investigating this issue in other threads. Had I done so I would not have excitedly begun this new thread.

The KP really is a good camera. It has a smaller battery {but I don't take that many photos on an outing}, a smaller buffer {but I have never filled it}, and lacks the topside LCD (but I never look there},so "true blue" K-3 users spurn it, but it is a fine camera anyhoo.

Don't forget the grip...

I agree as a k-3 owner... It did not feel like a path that appealed.
