It depends on how you are set up. You can configure to bracket in a burst or as a series of single shots. Strangely, holding the shutter down when configured to single will result in a burst.

The clue that it was bracketing at fault was the inability to set to f/2.8. There is a quirk with bracketing that limits the base setting to allow for the upper/lower limits of what is possible.

Thanks. Never used the auto brackett feature but played with it the other day setting it to five frame brackett....

FWIW, I have drive mode set as one of the things that is not kept when the camera is turned off. I was tired of being bit by the bracket snake.

menu --> Record Mode 4 --> Memory
