Car wreck!! Help needed.

So, today I rear ended a guy and totally wrecked my car. Inside were my K-3 and K-5, They had a certain amount of damage done to them, in my opinion, they are totaled as well. I will include a link to show how bad the damage was done. If they can be fixed, who do I send them to? If not, should I get two K-5iis' or should I get another K-3 and K-5? I shoot mostly nature, but will need some good autofocus for tracking horses. The K-3 is the one with the top screen damage.

I feel for your loss.
Don't know where to send it to, as I'm in Australia.
But if looks to me like the K3 can get fixed.
Please keep us updated on your next steps.

I would send the K-3 at least to chris. The authorized Pentax repair shop in the U.S.

Is he the guy in Chandler, AZ? I just emailed C.R.I.S. from Chandler. The K-5 looks beyond repair, huh?

Yeah that is the place. It may be cheaper to replace it. You could send it for an estimate.

United Camera also repairs DSLRs, but C.R.I.S is excellent (they did a fantastic job on my K-7 when the contacts shorted.)

Your K-5, if it's not repairable, could be sold as a parts camera on eBay and get a couple hundred bucks toward the purchase of a second K-3 body. So that's looking on the bright side of a car wreck.

Sorry about the wreck. Looks like you need to send me the 50 1:1.2 lens if you can't get the camera's repaired....lol
Good Luck

I'd check with your insurers to see if you can get replacements instead of sending them for repair.

Indeed! And a plus 1. Insurance will usually cover contents.

OK, so I got the cameras fixed quickly and very well done by CRIS in AZ. It didn't cost as much as I had expected either. Both cameras were salvageable. So now I have a K-5, K-5iis, and a K-3!
