Well I do think that the 1" sensor has some nice futures that can hold its ground against all smartphones. The thing is that lenses can only get smaller when the sensor gets smaller (then aps-c). But image quality can only remain to a level as long as the sensor is off a descent size (so larger then phones, or even Q7/MX-1). That is where the 1" sensor can find it's jackpot.

Two rescent new camera's and both having the same sensor, but nothing to share for the rest. The Samsung NX mini looks great (with the 9-27mm kitlens), but that also goes for the Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ1000.

My Stylus 1 meets my needs for a compact camera. Here are photos taken of a Romeo + Juliet performance as dusk was falling

My research has me giving very serious thought to the Panasonic LF 1. Smaller than the LX 7, truly pocketable, same sensor, a VF for very bright days, no lens cap, 28-200 lens.

I have a Nikon Coolpix P330. It's a very good compact, and quite underrated IMO.

Having said that, I am considering upgrading to a Sony RX-100 II or III. They are simply amazing cameras.

I will probably be waiting until Black Friday this year and seeing if I can snatch up an RX-100 II for a stellar price.
