K-7 + Color Run = Awesome photos

Went to a color run, not a single speck of dust found inside!

Did you rinse the dust away afterward?

Ignore the camera and think about your lungs instead.

Why do people do colour runs? I don't understand the purpose of these recently fashionable events.

My wife and I did a local Color Run twice with the kids, 7 and 4 the last time we did it. It's just a low key, stress free event since its not timed. The kids love the powder! It's also a great way to introduce them to a 5k event. Beyond that I have no idea.

Hindus have been doing it for many hundreds of years.

I wouldn't go to one with or without the camera...the smog we all breathe in each day is colorful enough for me :P

It would be great to repost this link in the lens section in a thread all of its own - so that it can be found much easier.

I'm glad you had a good time - give your camera a well-deserved shower!

Sounds like fun.

Despite the LensRentals blog comments, I'd still get involved. My Pentax gear has survived many hours in a working underground coal mine (high humidity), sand storms in North Africa (low humidity), to name but two. Other than the *istD, the bodies have been sealed, though my lenses are not WR. The 14/2.8 and 35/2.8 macro lenses, in particular, have survived the bulk of these exposures.

Makes sense. The K-7 is a nice camera, but neither the lens or camera is worth that much anyway, so what's the big risk? Sometimes we act like we're carrying a 5D Mk. III with the latest L glass!

5D or k-7, a disposable plastic bag and a rubber band would have kept 95% of the powder out. why risk it when it is so easy to prevent?

If you think color runs are nuts. Try Burning Man for a week. K-5 with 18-55 WR kit. No problem.
