the new Firmware

Hi again has anyone checked out this new Firmware,
I know it improves jpegs but will it improve AF or what is the advantage I don't do jpegs only raw.
I have installed the update now 1.10

just what will it do for my K3 if anything is this just for jpeg users?? was it pointless if I you use raw files

Haven't spent much time with my K-3 since the upgrade. However, my basic view (on any of these upgrades) is that if Pentax wants me to upgrade, I do it. Remember, there are other fixes in the upgrade than the diffraction feature. So...upgrades are never pointless IMHO.

Agreed.

Note this:

Changes to V1.10
  • Added Diffraction Correction on Lens Correction.*How to operate Diffraction Correction click here.
  • Shortened processing time for Digital Filter and Color Fringe Correction.
  • Improved stability for AWB (Auto white balance) performance.
  • Changed to ISO Bracketing when using Exposure Bracketing on TAv mode
  • Improved stability for general performance.
*Contents of [Version 1.03] and earlier version will be also updated.
That is another way of saying: "We found some bugs / rooms for improvement and fixed them while we were at it."

I wonder if you have to install the patches in sequence, or just jump into the latest patch?
I have a K3 with no firmware upgrades, and now 1.10 is out there.
Any thoughts ?
Thanks

Just jump into the latest patch. All previous versions can be updated directly.

Cheers.

Thanks!
I come from a background of older computer tech, patching Novell networks in the 80's and early 90's, and sometimes you had to patch in order.

Have a great day, will patch away!
