Industrial Landscape Photography

QuoteQuote:
When you hear the word ‘Industry’ it doesn’t exactly make you think of glamour and beauty, does it? In comparison to ‘Landscapes’ with their golden sun illuminated romantic scenery, you may find it hard to contemplate that industrial photography can be just as transcending as the other, we are going to prove that it can be. The only difference between the two previously mentioned photographic scenes is the word ‘Industry’. The word make many think of grey, gloomy and totally uninspiring photographs. Lets prove them wrong!

I live near Tacoma, WA and enjoy some of its grittier qualities.

Do oil rigs count? I get to see quite a lot of them due to my job

Morning Burn Off

Chemical Plant in Lima, Ohio. There is a field, small river with trees on both sides, and then a road between me and the plant. The dotted line of lights are headlights, with the line broken by the trees.

K-30 & Kiron 28/2.0, 13 second exposure (same place as the previous photo, different time of year, time of day, and different camera and lens.

I always liked this one, from 2005 with my *ist DS:

It was the main electrical generating plant on Kaua'i, burning fuel oil. Most people I showed it to asked how much stunning scenery I had to drive past to take that shot.

Not so much of an idea as it was just sheer dumb luck. Let's keep it going, these are really some very nice images. I am very partial to the oil rigs myself.
