Pentax Photo Gallery LAg Time

I assume I'm not the only one here who uploads to the Pentax Photo Gallery. How long is it taking for you guys to get your photos approved or rejected right now? Back in March, it took about a week or 10 days, IIRC. I took the summer off of uploading but have been doing so again since October and nothing I've uploaded since October 21 says anything except Pending Artist Voting. Is the artist voting queue really that long? Does anyone have any ideas on how long the queue is right now?

Thank you. I had started to think mine were just in some kind of non-voting limbo.

It takes time because the photos have to acquire a sufficient number of positive votes to be accepted.

Yeah, I figure they have some kind of system where a picture is accepted or rejected based on whether it reaches a threshold of up or down votes first. It would be nice to know more about how that works, how many people have to like it for it to be accepted, and so forth.

Yup. I'm running six-seven weeks, too. Either I didn't realize how long it took last year when I uploaded some, or it was a bit zippier.

They never seem to reject any photos anymore so my theory is that they leave them in the que until they get enough votes. A few years back, lots of images were rejected but not anymore. I may have to dig up some of those rejections to test my theory. LOL.

I just had a couple rejected, one of which I don't understand why at all. And another that, I found had a major technical flaw after I submitted it, was approved. The voting system is not without flaw. I did, accidentally, submit one that had been previously (a year earlier) rejected . It was rejected again. At least the community is consistent.

I have had photos accepted after they were rejected. One time it was just a minor change to how the photo was cropped.

In this case it really didn't. I had photos that I made no changes to accepted on a second or third try...
