I can imagine this conversation happening between a non photographer and a photographer...

Photographer: "I decided to get back to the roots of photography so I built this old wooden box and found an $8 lens on ebay..."

(photo turns out completely awesome)

Non photographer: "You must have an awesome camera!"

Alamo,
I was very interested to read that. Thanks
I think it is a substantial achievement that he got that working.
I would be interested to know the lens type.

I am presently working on a more humble project.
This home built medium format film camera body is designed to take cross brand lenses
of different registers.
Present "front end" project is a leaf shutter adapted to the Takumar 6x7 bayonet mount, for the 75mm.

I have had some set-backs and unexpected problems doing this and still some problems to overcome.
The difficulty is to do these projects without the engineering specs and drawings for the old components-lenses, shutters roll-film backs etc.
