That is kind of cool. I suppose with present technology the action of the first and second curtains is constrained by mechanical linkages, but I can't help but wonder whether it would be possible to do an in-camera version of a graduated neutral density filter by varying the width of the slit from top to bottom. (At least at high enough shutter speeds where there *is* a slit)
