Yes, big thanks to Eric!

What would be your foremost advice to anyone looking to purchase a vintage film Pentax, say Spotmatic series, K or M series? What should they look for as a user, not as a collector?

Question: Do you realize I worship you for saving my butt (and DA* glass) in the past after tumbles off the tripod?

thank you for being here and doing what you do.

Due to the love fest most folks have with Eric, I won't go into detail - other than to say my experience working with him has been quite unpleasant.

I am really new to photography in general and Pentax in particular, but I've really been enjoying my 100mm M macro lens-- are there any other old lenses he'd particularly recommend? I'd love to experiment with some other old lenses, but don't really know where to start.

Thanks K David, I am looking forward to the interview a lot. And as many have said, thank you Eric for your expertise and help. I tried to have my A-20mm fixed locally to no avail. Eric repaired it like the pro he is, and at a very low cost.

Hello Eric,
Do you accept repair/cla jobs on old Pentax film cameras from Australia?
Regards beachgardener.

The other question several people including myself have is: does the MZ-S have the plastic gears (i think around the mirror or shutter) like the other MZ-* cameras?

I am thinking of purchasing a MZ-S but have put it off until I can find this information.

Me, too. For me, I'm most looking forward to meeting Eric (yes, I'll be flying to Knoxville to interview him in person) and see a bit more about how he repairs old cameras. It's going to be a really fun interview.

- Can you think of a way to retrofit the DC motor to SDM lenses? Or perhaps a screw drive into a DA 17-70?

FWIW Eric is the main reason I've remained primarily a Pentax user since the late 1990's.

Based on my dealings with Eric over the years he strikes me as a very unassuming guy.
It's a nice surprise to see he has consented to an interview. I look forward to reading it.
