...when someone hands you their P&S to take their photo and you put it up to your face.

...your idea of a big night out revolves around a meteor shower or lunar eclipse.

...people turn to you for predicting rainbows or if a sunset will be good or not.

One I have heard a few times lately is:
"I didn't even bother getting my camera out for that meteor shower/eclipse/sunset/etc because I knew you would be out there getting better photos!"

When you are watching a movie, and there is intentional lens flare "for a sense of drama", so you try to count the aperture blades in the lens.
