Rome is so fabulous that you don't have to worry about the weather. You'll find plenty of artistic and timeless perspectives also in the worst weather anytime. And there's so many buildings, churches,monuments, museums to see that you'll be able to avoid the worst conditions outside. Otherwise...you'll find a lot of good places to photograph good food !!! Remember going to eat in Trastevere quartier (less cost, typical&traditional food, good quality) .

While traveling, be sure to bring also with you a camera with good-conditioned lenses. I suggest you use lenses with focal length range of 24-80 mm so you can just adjust the zoom of your camera and you can use it at any point through that range.
Also, you are worried if night photography is safe. Probably, there are crooks wandering around the sites, so you have to be mindful of that. Just don’t wear luxury brand belongings, carry a plain bag and secure your camera. Bring it out only when you want to capture a view of the charming Venice.
