I've just googled. They still exist! I wonder if Gerald Shap is still there?

Camerland still exists, although the have only one Pentax lens left... I think they are phasing it out. My store of choice is Tothills, another institution that has been there forever. My K5 debacle was actually painless: even though the fault was intermittent, I was never doubted or made to feel uncomfortable in returning it. The whole experience crystallised to me the worth of walking into a store and letting them handle the exchange process.

Yes, of course. Tothills has been there for a long time. I always supported Shaps - they were just around the corner from where I worked.

It's nice to deal with people you've known for years, but camera stores for the general public may go the way of Blockbuster.
