Was Santa Good to You This Christmas?

Post photography-related gifts you were excited to give or receive this year!

My husband got me a LensAlign with FocusTune software! I love it because I've always wanted one but couldn't justify buying it for myself. Also a B&H gift card which I intend to put toward either the FF or DFA*70-200 next year.

Ona Brixton messenger camera bag (in leather) for when I travel to Qatar in a few weeks time. It will serve as a handbag/carry-on bag and camera bag, so I won't be carrying a camera-specific backpack as well as a handbag.

Now to decide which two lenses to take....do I risk the amigos with the superfine dust over there or take a kit lens and the 40ltd?

I bought myself a used Tamron Adaptall SP 90mm f/2.5. It looks like it's been through the wars a bit (there's a small visible scratch on the element closest to the body, although I don't see it in any photos yet). But it cost Santa (me) only $115 Canadian, which is currently $83 bucks. Nice contrast, great bokeh, and having a 1:2 macro is a lot of fun. Some extension tubes are next...

15, 21, 70 HD Limited from the family and AF540FGZ-II from Santa.

My K-5's joy is complete, as is mine, of course.

I must have been good this year, since Santa dropped off:

K-3, Cactus V6/RF60, Manfrotto Lumie LED light, and there's still a rumor of a new camera bag out there somewhere....

You must have written a very precise letter to Santa explaining just how good you've been, to get all those good things.

A book - and a seriously embarrassing card with it.

"All the Best Rubbish - Being an Antiquary's Account of the Pleasures and Perils of Studying & Collecting Everyday Objects from the Past
- by Ivor Noel Hume.

The attached card read, "You didn't really think you were sneaking all those old lenses past me, did you?"

I bought myself the K-S1, DA18-135 & a HUGE Manfrotto bag to store lenses in. My son bought me a glass Enchanted Rose from Disney's Beauty & the Beast that is gorgeous. Oh, I also bought myself one of the ColorMunki display calibration things & the little white balance folder thing.

My mom got me a vest with lots of pockets for photography and some MacWet climatec gloves. Both are great, but the gloves are fantastic. They fit perfectly and I can feel all the buttons and dials on the camera with them on and they don't hinder me at all. Very nice! I've been looking for some photography gloves for quite a while and haven't been satisfied with anything I've tried. These will not be exactly warm in extreme cold, but they will certainly be better than nothing and are thin enough that I could put larger gloves over them in between shooting or just put my hands in my pockets.

My (much) better half and I just buy stocking stuffers for each other. Neither of us need anything and anything either of us want we end up buying out of our "allowance". Instead we put money, that would have otherwise been spent on Christmas gifts, towards trips/vacations together.

This year (2016) we have... a cruise out of LA for a week with a couple of nights aboard the Queen Mary beforehand... a trip to Bruges...and 3 weeks in Australia culminating with a few days in Darwin and the Ghan Expedition.
