Sounds a lot like market saturation and building competition to me... (and their "Session" minicam was an overt cash-grab at $400).

... and their initial offering price was inflated, in hindsight.

From the linked article: "GoPro expects quarter four 2015 revenue to come in at $435 million with non-GAAP gross margins set between 34.5 and 35.5 percent."

I realize they missed analysts estimates by a lot, but how on earth are 35% margins a bad thing?

Could it also be that people who wanted a GoPro have already bought them and sales beign stalling? Mind you that margin isn't indicating this. Just seems like a niche market to me.

Good point. Market saturation clearly plays a role in declining DSLR sales, probably similar with gopro's.

Their stock is ready to become a penny stock. Competition from Chinese makers offering the same for half the money is their ending.

I've always found it funny that there are always a lot of GoPros on shopgoodwill.com. There are 7 listed as of right now...

I think the biggest thing is that most people have discovered that unless you are a crazy good athlete, most of the footage you get with a Go Pro is really boring.

I was skiing last year and there were kids on the magic carpet with Go Pros strapped to their helmets. I can't imagine how boring it would be to watch a morning's video session from the 30 vertical feet they covered 10 times.

30 vertical feet! That's a mountain in Indiana. I told one of my sons I wanted a GoPro. He said that I never do anything that merits having one. So I didn't get one.

People see great videos put together from GoPro footage and don't realize how much editing skill, camera angles, man hours, sound production, etc goes into a mere five minutes. I imagine its significantly harder to get into then making good photographs.

To me it looks like GoPro is a company of one product ony. First they designed high quality small factor sports camera that made a big success. Then the others started copying them by creating similar but cheaper products. Nowadays GoPro guys have no ideas what to do next...

it isn't what they told us about the past that's the problem. It's what they told us about the future.
