How much battery for star trails?

How much time do you think I could last on full AA alkaline batteries for taking a straight on star trail in cold weather (-5°C)?

Do you think I could 15 minutes out of it?

This PDF from Energizer might be helpful:

http://data.energizer.com/PDFs/temperat.pdf

It appears that you can expect service life at -5C of about 60% of what you might get at room temperature.

Lithium AA cells or a few extra D-Li109 might be the better choices than alkaline cells.

I got a power adapter and an inverter, hooked up to a 12 volt battery, should go all night. I'm just to lazy to get out there and use it.
