Well, you wouldn't have to sell very many.

I always wonder why someone will do that? Does he really think he can sell it, or just does it for fun?

The only practical explanation may be to make some idiots like me to repost his sales page on photoforum, so people can go and look at his other stuff.
If so, he calculated that just right

Looking at his eBay store, his goods in general appeal to those with, ummmm..., eclectic needs and tastes. In the case of the photo linked in the original post, the need would be to spend a fair amount of money to support questionable taste.

What would be the ebay fee for a $299,000.00 listing?

It does not matter since the initial listing is free (I'm sure). Even minus 50% is free money. But I doubt it's a catch. Most likely he generates reposts by me and others.

I will immediately go to my leb now and do a few years of resurch. Then I will be rich.

The photo doesn't spark much interest... I don't think it will sell, but I seem to remember a photo of a Potato that sold quite a bit....LOL!

I once got a call from a telemarketer trying to sell me an investment in an oil well. I turned it around and offered to sell him a toll bridge in Brooklyn. He said he'd take it to his boss. I always wondered how long he worked at that job after our conversation.
