Maybe they should mark them as "not dishwasher safe".

According to the text in the NEWSSTAND area it said it did. (To our surprise, this tough DSLR survived!) I doubt any of us were too surprised.

I love the dramatic pose of the upraised, gloved hand rising out of the dishwater, clutching the camera as if it were Excalibur.

Cue theme music...

No water got in but the aperture stop-down mechanism probably still broke....

Well, I can attest that in many downpours in the Philippines that my K-30 has never had a problem. I never worry about it at all as it has been through Typhoons and just normal showers can hit you in a minute with ALOT of water, hmmm....but I never tried it in soapy water.

Suds! ... Typhoons!!! ... photographing a mass baptism service last Sunday with my K30 and 18-55 DAL WR isn't really worth mentioning.

Buoy will this lead to a new rash of complaints. Don't the Pop Photog people remember anything from film days. Soap (aka film rinsing agent) is a surface tension modifier. With less surface tension the seals have very little chance of working for very long. Soap is also rarely PH neutral so once inside, just think of all the corrosion it can lead to when exposed to electrical contacts and circuits.

Pentax however must love them, just think of all the out of warranty claims they will process

Unintentional maritime pun? (or a spell checker that would rather be sailing?) As long as the camera was rinsed off once the cover photos were taken, it will be fine.
