Now The only autofocus magic lens I had used up until this point was a quandary 35-90 f3,5 something or other? And using the D810. Yeah I can see the fuss.
Sneaking shots of small wrens deep in trees, the autofocus is really pretty good, Tracking was good but not infallible, It was by no means perfect and missed plenty of critters. Honestly about 60% of the shots were accurately focused. I was chasing small wrens in deep scrub, but still. It's by no means witchcraft. As mentioned, it was certainly more accurate then the Super Tak
But would I buy $4k worth of gear to go walking around the bush in my leisure time....
The weight penalty, really not as a big of a deal as I'd imagine also, so promising for the FF Pentax coming of course.
Long story short as a professional tool, yeah I wouldn't want to struggle with anything less, but for a hobbyist, my K5 is fine thanks. Kinda glad I got that out of my system actually.
I am convinced I want some autofocus glass now however :P DA*'s please
