The cities that never sleep: Aerial photos of ten cities at night

QuoteQuote:
Offering a dazzling new perspective of ten of the world’s most iconic cityscapes, Pulitzer-prize winning photographer Vincent Laforet has completed his high-altitude photography series, Air.

By dangling out of a helicopter at 7,500ft over New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, London, Las Vegas, Berlin, San Francisco, Miami, Barcelona and Sydney, the acclaimed photographer has captured these cities in breath-taking detail.

My favorites were Sydney and Manhattan (the last one in the article, with Central Park in much of the frame). I didn't like the 2 with tilt-shift effects.

The processing looks heavy but I think he had to do that to accentuate the different light colors. It's intended for a print book and that works differently than screen display. Certainly an expensive set of photos to take: travel to multiple cities plus helicopter rental at each.

His daytime aerial work is good, too.
