No love for K-1 again

So, one of the best rated cameras in years at dxomark is nowhere to be seen in Popular Photography Awards?
Even Pen-F gets some love, showing no improvements hardware-wise over other cameras in Oly line-up except a faster EVF (I do know it's a gorgeous looking camera though, but personally value other things more than pure style).

There are only be one "best" camera, I guess! Everyone's entitled to a different opinion. Maybe they didn't pick the K-1 because the sensor it uses has been on the market for a while?

I guess 5D IV had to be mentioned no matter what, it's too big of a camera... And they wouldn't have two full frame bodies in one list. What else can it be)

Maybe...the younger generation never heard of Pentax before.
But I love Pentax for reasonable price and gives me what I paid for.

Two Kickstarter Backpacks, two Monolights, one full frame? Okay.

Perhaps they should rename it as "Populist Photography"?

I don't think it's fallen quite that far, yet, in spite of all.

I'm happy to report that the K-1 has made the display window of our local Canikony dealer (at the original selling price in Oz), which will have had a greater impact than sales of Pop Photo on the local market.

when you look at the K1 as a whole, having a 5 year old sensor with a few extra perks (lights near the camera mounts, astro tracer etc) it isn't ground breaking
but to a Pentaxian they are
maybe this is how they kept the price down.

That's pretty much the entire Pentax business model in a couple sentences.

if the k1 is mentioned in a review, there is a thread about it

if the k1 is not mentioned, there is a thread about it

is there any reason to not bother making a thread about it?

What's so ground breaking in 5D IV?

no, there aren't any rules. it's just an observation.

and obviously not your fault. it just seems that no matter what the review says, it earns a commentary around here.

I think everyone has an opinion on the Internet, the hard part is figuring out who really knows what they're talking about.

But honestly, if no one posted here, it would be a dull place ( it often feels a little bit that way between new releases).
