My "Insurance Policy" Against Chinese Import Tariffs On Photo Stuff...

.
Today I read in the press that:

"Trump has sent mixed signals to China, America's largest trading partner. Beijing has already protested to Washington after Trump took a phone call with the president of Taiwan -- the first such call in around four decades.

The defiant president-elect followed up with a series of provocative tweets directed at Beijing on Sunday, accusing China of expansionism and of fiddling the exchange rate."

I don't care what your politics are, but it's clear to me that the USA's relationship with China very well may change after Donald Trump becomes the President of the USA.

If President Trump imposes trade tariffs on Chinese imports (and likely imports from other countries too) the price of lots of stuff us U.S.A. photographers use will likely increase in price. That's what my crystal ball says.

Being a bit of a prepper, I've already developed my own little "Insurance Policy" against this possible inflationary impact on the price of photography equipment. I've been stockpiling camera accessories for some time now. I've got: lots of extra accessories (see below photos of lens caps and step-up/step-down rings.

Go ahead and laugh, but when a 49mm front lens cap triples in price next year, just remember, you heard it here first!

OMG! You are obviously the ringleader for cornering the lens cap market.

Pentax stuff is generally made in Vietnam, Philippines and Japan. Taiwan has been known to make a few things as well.
