interactive exposure tool

I can see the benefit but would a beginner understand?
What's your thought?

That is a really nice teaching aid which would be great for helping anyone visualize some of the basic photographic concepts. I agree with the creator's rationale (About | Photography Mapped) that most camera users never go beyond "full auto" mode. That is fine if it meets their needs. But helping someone better understand and enjoy a tool they already own is always worthwhile and is the reason many of us contribute to this forum.

Thanks for finding and sharing that.

am I mistaken or does adjusting f stops doesn't increase/decrease the back ground blur?
(my words are dating me )

Did you use a tripod? If not, it simulates camera shake. If the shutter speed is too low so the background might end up blurry from camera shake when you stop down if you don't compensate to keep the shutter speed up. Pretty neat simulation.

Both are interesting pages... the CameraSim one seems more life like, not just the photo, but also how the controls are laid out. But I do like the abstract representations isolating what each setting does on the Photography Mapped page.

It appears to not show in "live view" but does in the "taken" image.
