If you're good with money, you can always put some aside to buy a bottle of good scotch, bourbon or cognac..

LOL

I grew up in the 70's and 80's... I was always a child of the 60's in some way however.

Nice shot. I'm partial to good Cognac more than the others. Scotch just tastes... well let's just say I don't want to offend anyone and leave it there.

Each to his own, I can't handle Baileys - I can't stand the scent of it, or the taste either for that matter.

Not a huge fan of that either so I hear you. LOL. But I agree I will let others enjoy their own passion.

My BIL used to give me a bottle of Baileys every Christmas - until I told him I didn't drink the stuff. My wife got annoyed as she lost her supply.

The little slimebag who took my Nikon Coolpix 8700 has my backhanded thanks, as its replacement was an *istDL, which came in to supplement and later replace the P50T they didn't take, which in turn had replaced my Minolta Dynax 3xi (no theft there; I just liked the Pentax better, despite the bells and whistles).

Ice in good Scotch - NO

Go to Scotland and order ice in Scotch, watch the bartender wince in pain. Scotch is meant to be drunk neat maybe a little drop of water to break it open, but never over ice. Go to a real distillery and take their sample, ask for ice and be prepared to be thrown off the premises and rightfully so.

It's strange how alcohol isn't viewed as a dangerous drug.

That isn't ice in that glass at all, those are chilled solid quartz whisky stones. They are designed to lower the temperature of drinks without diluting them - unfortunately they aren't as good at chilling drinks as actual ice. As a rule I never have ice in my scotch, though sometimes doing so can improve young or indifferently blended whisky.

That all depends on who you ask and where. Here in the Bible Belt, a lot of folks will go on at length about how dangerous (and sinful) it is—and then drive two towns over to get 'em a bottle of Jim Beam, where they hope nobody they know will see them in the liquor store, except their neighbor is probably there doing the same exact thing.

Obviously for medicinal reasons.

Leave me out of this - I'm not overweight, just under-tall.
