Cheap firewire cameras without an IR filter?

Hi all,

I am trying to replace a failed camera in a research equipment, and I would like to get it done by next thursday.

We currently have this: basler scout sca640-74fm - Google Search

I am looking for something along those lines: monochromatic, no IR filter (or removable, by force or otherwise), and either a c-mount (already got a lens) or a normal focal length (43mm equiv +/-) focal length. It would have to have a firewire connection.

Any ideas if it is possible to get one for around ~$100 by next thursday?

While I suspect they won't have the quality you want, there are a few firewire webcams around - pre-Intel Macs really didn't like USB cameras, but worked well with firewire. The obvious one is Apple's iSight, but they're probably too low specification. Instructions for an infra-red conversion here:

later - sorry, I missed the monochomatic bit, iSight is colour.
