There was a tear in the fabric of space at Yellowstone today. Pentax stirkes back!

Three intrepid Pentaxians showed up in Yellowstone National Park the same place at the same time! Wtlwdwgn, dwalt and me, gaweidert, met up at the Mammoth Hot Springs Visitor's center and spent the day in the Lamar Valley photographing whatever happened to show up. This included bison, elk, badger, pronghorn antelope, coyote, osprey and a black bear with three cubs in tow. My son came along and sometimes wielded one of my Pentax DSLR's too.

wtlwdwgn and dwalt live in Montana and I live in New York.

So without further ado, from left to right:

wtlwdwgn, gaweidert, caweidert (son of ga) and dwalt.

OK, the three Pentax cameras are there, and the three guys shooting with them, but not for nothing, what was THIS image shot with?

Only seven different animals in a day's shoot?
What were you doing for the rest of the day?

I am sincerely waiting for some shots of the better looking subjects from the day!
Perhaps all three of you (or 4, if junior can be included) could add your images to this one thread?

does that young guy carry all that equipment from place to place for you guys in one trip or does he have to backtrack and haul the stuff in multiple trips?

I think the young guy is their keeper. It should be obvious to all that if there are three Pentax shooters gathered in one place, you have three weirdos in one place. Hence the need for a keeper.

Very nice photos, and quite a day seeing the wildlife - love the badger. My personal experience with Yellowstone is that if one sees animals on seven occasions, one has seen bison on at least 6 of those occasions.

all I know is that when I used to hunt white tail deer, you saw them either just before legal hunting time started or right after legal hunting time was over.

you could set your watch by them
