No kidding. I cancelled my account and am now uploading my photos through my own website.

So far this outrageous extortion is only coming through Photobucket. Other hosting websites like Flikr have not yet taken this path so they may remain an option if you can download your photos and transfer them.

There is another post around here somewhere under General Discussion or some such.

I think this is the one.

Hi Eva... The limitation is imposed by Photobucket, I'm afraid. Nothing can be done by the forums and other websites - it's entirely under Photobucket's control, and is an intentional move on their part... A lot of people are, quite rightly, up in arms about it - although it's always a risk when relying on a free image hosting option that they may at some point begin to charge.

Here on PF, Site Supporters get increased storage capacity for images, and it's quite an inexpensive option.

I do understand your point. For what it's worth, I think what they've done is very poor show, and they'll disenfranchise a lot of members... But it's in the hands of Photobucket and, to a lesser extent, their users. As you rightly point out, the contract is between you and Photobucket. And, as I mentioned, there's always PentaxForums image hosting
