Your clickbait title does not cover the content of the article which is likely not true. Such a strategy could be tried, but if "mass" production would be stopped, that would very likely be the end of the brand as few people will be able to afford a custom product.

Saw this on the Pentax K1 Facebook page. As one of the commenters said, it's like the French photography-related version of the Onion. They also have an article on how a photographer gave up his career because his pirated copy of Photoshop stopped working. Mildly amusing. I was counting the minutes until this would appear on PF with doom and gloom.

On the other hand, the information on Ricoh's use of 3D-Printers for tool manufacturing posted in the same thread is quite interesting.

Thread are getting more and more interesting these days. Ricoh may have switched to a Life Time Value (LTV) for Pentax; that can be ok for awhile.

Deleting the thread will not undo the damage already done since the news aggregators have no doubt already scraped it into the database. Be careful what you write in the interweb,because what is done cannot be undone.

Oh boy, I would really mess things up if I were to assemble my own camera. Probably I'll have a couple of screws missing, probably an inverted focusing screen and I don't know what next. But you guys are right. The mods should kill this thread before sentiments and arguments come in.
