Now for the cutest...... at my house

Finn. Just recently adopted from the shelter.

And his big sister Pepper.

Yup! A wire haired Pointing Griffon. Amazing hunters and amazing personalities too.

I have a theory that after maybe 10-20k years of domestication we've developed a symbiotic relationship with dogs. This means a proportion of us are hardwired to have to have a dog in our lives. Those born without the dog gene must be puzzled by the bond
It's being shown in MRI type imaging - there most definitely is a bond and shared emotional response:

I like this. Dog sitting still but the image shows some action because of the wind. Very nice.

A nice personality? Cute inside? Andy just turned 11 and is an Italian Greyhound.

Lena is a Chihuahua that turned up on our doorstep. She has a huge underbite and usually has a canine sticking out.

One of our friends has dogs named Finn and Piper. Someone play the twilight zone theme.

The late Bugner, a truly large boxer but cute. He belonged to some friends of mine in Cape town SA but when I visited he was more like a friend than a pet (or guard dog). When I was sat down he liked to push between my knees, sit and put his head on my lap and wait to be stroked and rubbed around his head and ears. Not a lap dog, he never tried that but when I sat on the grass trying to capture some of the birds he would come alongside, sit and lean his body against mine. So we sat there for many minutes watching the birds.
Posted on another thread but I did love that dog.
