Who's got the Cutest Dog(s)?

In the spirit of MightMike’s sequence of his dog Bandit (The Ugly(Cute) Truth about AF-C Finished Gallery - PentaxForums.com) and his use of “Cute” in the title, and with a goal to help the posting count as we get close to June 30, I propose we post the cutest pictures of our dog(s).

I’ll start with Freeway, Aspen, and Timmy, in various combinations and situations, and taken with a variety of cameras (Pentaxes, Canon, HP, and Kodak).

These are our rescue dogs #4, 5, and 6 respectively. Numbers 1, 2, and 3 predate my decent digital cameras (although I do have various slide and polaroid shots of them).

At this point, only Aspen in still with us, and her days are numbered (she has osteosarcoma - bone cancer).

I am so glad I have lots of pictures of them all, and urge you to devote some (more!) frames to your dogs and other pets. These are precious memories of our “kids” (we have no kids otherwise).

Freeway stuck between the wall and a futon bed - this is the most bewildered I ever saw him! He didn’t have room to turn around to get back out - we finally moved the futon. (Taken with HP 318)

Freeway in his “pup” tent (Canon Rebel XT)

Freeway and Aspen waiting for the Great Pumpkin (for non-Americans: this is Peanuts cartoon humor) (Pentax K10D)

Aspen and Timmy taking a nap (Kodak Z-915)

Aspen supervising Timmy’s gopher hunting/digging lessons (between them we know of some 40+ kills!) (Pentax K20D)

Timmy gopher hunting, closer up (Pentax K20D)

Timmy takes a nap (all that gopher hunting can tire you out!) (Pentax K-5)

Very nice dogs! Glad to hear you got rescues too! I only have cats, so I guess they make for pretty ugly dogs then :P!

Kato relaxing.
Shot with the DA300 from inside the garage, all stealthy-like.

Kato, when a pup, was very slinky. He'd go behind the couch to play-hide from Kiowa, our Malamute. It was the funniest damn thing we ever saw. Most huskies are very nimble, he is no exception. Malamutes are...less so.

I have a theory that after maybe 10-20k years of domestication we've developed a symbiotic relationship with dogs. This means a proportion of us are hardwired to have to have a dog in our lives. Those born without the dog gene must be puzzled by the bond.

Not a Pentax but a Mamiya M645 1000s. But it's still a dog photo.

Some anthropologists consider us co-species. So intertwinded we may not have developed beyond pack-sized groups ourselves without their help.

Unfortunately all my "cute" shots of Cider as a pup were lost when my young niece spilled soda all over our laptop. Have an external hard drive for back up now. Anyway, does handsome count?

Cider in full winter coat.

Windows to the soul.

On break.

Found another. Bringing the girls home for the evening.
