i started with the pentax k-r, and i found that for the price i paid for it, i could only get a basic canikon dlsr, stuck to pentax since then and I just replaced the k-r with the k70. One little disadvantage (not sure if i could call it that) is that third party lens manufacturers do not cater much to pentax users as compared to other brands.

"I am a sucker for the underdog"

This! So much this... but also, I am a sucker for the amazing image quality at a reasonable price and with an amazing sturdiness + IBIS. Really rare combo nowadays!

For my needs and budget, Pentax makes the most sense.
. Great affordable lenses
. IBIS
. Best ergonomics
. Great sensors
. Very rugged, weather sealing available
. DNGs work well with any raw developer
. Last but not least, the best user community bar none!
I can't agree more. Last line especially!
