Reminder! Anytime over the weekend should be good for the Perseids. Things aren't looking good here. I'm downwind of the forest fires in Cali and visibility sux. Good luck, everyone!

Thanks for the reminder.

Also, now is a good time to run the "Pixel Mapping" function (Wrench #4 menu) to map out hot-spot pixels.

My skies don't look that good, either. I did a dry run this morning and had issues with smoke-related sky glow @ 30 seconds, f/2.8, ISO 640 with a Samyang 14mm. I did see one very bright Perseid as I was setting up and captured one faint Perseid and a faint sporadic.

I'll probably try a run of interval composite (maybe ISO 200, 30 sec shutter, minimum interval, "bright" compositing, and maybe 120 intervals). Or I could use standard interval shooting and stack the frames in post. I'm also going to see if I can position Polaris at 1/3 of the frame.
